Way 12 Halfway House, a program of The Storefront Group, is closing, effective July 1, 2008. The decision to close is a difficult one given the program’s long and successful history in the chemical health community. During our 34 years, Way 12 has played an important role for thousands of young adults on their path to long term sobriety. We have been fortunate to work with many outstanding treatment centers to build on the sobriety that these young people began prior to their arrival with us. Treatment centers everywhere have been serving a client population whose issues are increasingly more difficult and complex. We have worked to meet the needs of this population within the confines of a halfway house model and the limits of our building. We have concluded that we cannot successfully meet these needs within the scope of our program model, the capabilities of our facility, and maintain the level of excellence Storefront strives for in its programs. Many people have been instrumental in assisting us to help so many young men and women over the past 34 years. We are grateful to our current and former staff, the recovery community, and the friends of Way 12 across the country. Since the beginning we have been privileged to have outstanding support from the entire community of Wayzata, including our neighbors, city officials, the business community, and the school district. We will provide services to our existing clients and their families as they work to successfully complete their program at Way 12. If you have questions or would like additional information, please contact Hal Pickett, Director Client Services at hal.pickett@storefront.org or me. Sincerely, Pat Dale CEO The Storefront Group (612) 861-1675
Way 12 Program Information
Way 12 Halfway House was established in the Wayzata,
The program addresses the many obstacles in life and sobriety that chemically dependent people face. Each of the 20 male residents moves at a different pace in their recovery. Staff provides therapeutic care while encouraging residents to learn self sufficiency in reaching their goals. The program builds on the progress the clients made in primary treatment and enables them to grow in sobriety as they make the transition into young adulthood. Way 12 Halfway House |
